We foresaw the Home Office explosion very early. 1970 saw our first building of Oak File Cabinets to huge success. Small student desks and drop front desks have always been in our products offered since 1945. In the early 1980 computer desks and home office furniture became central to our offerings. We always stock 2 drawers, 3 drawers, 4 drawer files. Letter and legal and lateral files are always popular for instant pick up . We use Dovetailed drawers and full extension ball bearing drawer slides.
Bookcases are always a big deal at the Barn furniture. We stock and build 100’s in many designs we have offered starting in 1967. Contemporary bookcases came first and we still offer these economical bookcases. Mission spindle bookcases came in the mid 1970’s. Next the Lawyers Bookcases came on board. Most bookcases have adjustable shelves and are available with glass doors.
Most of the bookcases come in standard widths of 24” 30” 36”
48” and standard Heights of 30” 36” 48” 60” 72” 84” are mostly flush sided for easily placing side by side to fill a wall with books. Most have adjustable shelves.
Available and often in stock is our durable office furniture made with North American Hard woods: Plain Cut Oak, Quarter Sawn White Oak, Brown Maple, Soft Maple, Character Quarter Sawn White Oak, Rustic Quarter Sawn white Oak, Character Cherry, Rustic Cherry, Cherry Wood are top quality Kiln dried solid stock lumber.
Our use of superior Construction Details is truly Noteworthy: Dove tail joints, Mortis and Tenons, Dowel joints and Recessed and raised panels and a standard of the industry Conversion Varnish Bar Top Finish.
Our Arts and Crafts office furniture is built by experienced Amish woodworkers in family workshops one piece at a time. We offer product designs inspired by Stickley, Charles Rene Macintosh, Greene and Greene, Charles Limbert and Frank Lloyd Wright to name a few of the Pioneers of the Arts and Craft Movement.
